Who runs iTaoBuy, and is it legit?

'Is iTaoBuy legit' is one of its steadier searches, and the first thing to know is who you'd be dealing with. KakoGuide's June 2026 review gives more company detail than most agents publish themselves:

A named operator is a good sign; a missing fee table is not a bad one on its own, but it means the price you'll pay is only visible at checkout. That's the opposite of AliExpress, where the price on the listing is the price you pay, shipping included or shown per store.

Verdict: iTaoBuy is identifiable and working. Treat its first checkout as the fee table it doesn't publish, and screenshot it.

Working out iTaoBuy's unpublished fee

With no published fee, you work it out from the checkout. Put one item in the cart, note the item price in yuan, and compare it with the total iTaoBuy asks for before shipping. The gap is the service fee plus any domestic delivery and exchange-rate margin. Doing that once, on a cheap item, tells you what every later order will roughly cost.

For context, the agents that do publish range from nothing on Taobao and 1688 (Superbuy) to 6% (CSSBuy). Second-hand platforms often cost more: Superbuy, for example, charges ¥20 flat per Xianyu item. If iTaoBuy's margin on a Xianyu buy is in that range, it's normal for the category.

Keep your screenshot. Agents without a fee table can change their charges without anyone noticing, and the only record is the one you keep.

Xianyu and Yupoo through iTaoBuy

Xianyu is Alibaba's second-hand marketplace — China's equivalent of a local resale app — and it's where iTaoBuy's reach matters. Most agents can't parse Xianyu links in their search bar and ask you to fill a manual order form instead. iTaoBuy names Xianyu as a supported source.

Second-hand buying through an agent has its own rules: the seller is a private person, stock is one item, and there's no return once it's bought. QC photos are your only check, so ask for close-ups of wear and any flaws before accepting. AliExpress doesn't sell second-hand goods at all, so for this kind of item there's no direct alternative.

Yupoo is different: it's a photo-album site with no checkout. iTaoBuy lists it as a source, which in practice means buying from the seller behind the album. Our Yupoo page explains how that works.

The 120-day clock

iTaoBuy's storage rule is stricter than most: 90 free days, a further 30, and then the items are destroyed. There's no paid extension in KakoGuide's account. Compare that with agents that offer 100–180 free days or paid extensions:

Set a reminder at day 80. A parcel that ships a little light is better than items that disappear. If you tend to collect slowly, an agent with a longer clock — Basetao, for instance — suits you better.

When iTaoBuy is worth the extra effort

Most of what AliExpress shoppers want is on AliExpress, so an agent like iTaoBuy earns its place only in specific cases. Three are worth knowing. First, second-hand finds on Xianyu — vintage pieces, discontinued items, one-offs — which no export marketplace carries. Second, specific Weidian shops that appear in community spreadsheets and don't sell abroad. Third, a large haul from several Chinese shops, where one parcel beats many AliExpress parcels on shipping and, in the EU, on the €3-per-category duty.

Outside those cases, the direct route is simpler: AliExpress shows the final price, ships to you and handles returns. The right habit is to check AliExpress first, then turn to an agent for what's left — and to choose that agent on published terms where possible, which is iTaoBuy's weak spot.
